My name is Hyungjo Hur.
I am an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Purdue University Northwest.
I earned a PhD in Public Policy and Management at the John Glenn College of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University.
I earned an MA in Economics from Maxwell School in Syracuse University, an MPA from Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service in New York University, and an MPA from Seoul National University (South Korea).

Research Interest
My research interests are on exploring government’s use of policy tools, like expenditures, to manage risk and to prevent unexpected crises before risk materializes.
Dissertation
The dissertation (entitled “Three Essays on Policies to Help Government Improve Workforce Resilience”), which is made up of three individual papers, covers how government human resource management policies can improve the workforce resilience under social and economic uncertainties.
